The company confirmed that unauthorized access to internal systems took place between March 28 and April 6, 2025, during which threat actors were able to exfiltrate files containing sensitive personal data.

Sensata revealed that the attack disrupted shipping systems, manufacturing operations, and other business functions. According to the company’s most recent investigation update on May 23, the stolen data may include a wide range of personally identifiable information (PII), such as:

  • Full names
  • Home addresses
  • Social Security Numbers (SSNs)
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Passport numbers
  • Financial account details
  • Credit card numbers
  • Health information
  • Dates of birth

The breach affects current and former employees, and in some cases, family members of employees. The specific data compromised varies by individual. Sensata has begun notifying affected individuals and is offering one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services.

At this time, the identity of the ransomware group behind the attack remains undisclosed, and the company has not officially stated how many people were impacted by the breach.
