Ledger, the manufacturer of self-custodial hardware wallets for digital assets, has notified some customers that their personal information may have been affected by a data breach involving its third-party payment service provider, Global-e. The company emphasized that the incident did not impact Ledger’s own network, hardware, or software systems, and that Ledger’s infrastructure remains secure.

According to Ledger, the data accessed was related to customer order information for purchases made on Ledger[.]com where Global-e acted as the Merchant of Record. As a precaution, Ledger informed affected customers that the exposed data included names and contact details, while confirming that no financial information or sensitive data related to customers’ digital assets was compromised.

Global-e provides cross-border payment processing and order management services for numerous global brands and therefore stores customer order data as part of its operations. Ledger noted that this incident was not limited to its customers alone, as the attackers gained access to Global-e’s cloud environment that hosted order data for multiple brands. Customers were warned to remain vigilant for potential phishing attempts, and those affected will be contacted directly by Global-e. Impacted users may also reach out to Global-e for additional details regarding the incident and its potential consequences.
