Unlimited Technology Systems, a U.S.-based healthcare technology company, has disclosed a data breach affecting more than 3.8 million individuals after attackers gained access to the company’s commercial data center between October 5 and October 10, 2025. The company, headquartered in Montgomery, Ohio, provides financial technology, billing, and revenue cycle management solutions to healthcare organizations. Its services support more than 4,500 oncology clinics and over 6,500 specialty healthcare providers, helping them manage payments, insurance claims, and related administrative operations.
The company stated that it detected unauthorized activity within its commercial data center on October 19, 2025. It subsequently engaged a cybersecurity forensics firm to investigate the incident, notified law enforcement authorities, and reviewed the affected data. The investigation determined that an unauthorized party may have obtained copies of certain personal information between October 5 and October 10, 2025. Unlimited Technology Systems reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that the incident affected 3,803,750 individuals.
The potentially stolen information includes names, health insurance details, and medical information such as medical record numbers, diagnoses, and dates of service. Scanned documents, including driver’s licenses, insurance cards, and intake forms, may also have been exposed, along with Social Security numbers (SSNs), dates of birth, addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers. However, the company stated that the incident did not affect complete medical records, medical images, payment card information, or bank account information. Unlimited Technology Systems has not disclosed technical details regarding how the attack was carried out or identified the threat actor responsible, and no known extortion group has claimed responsibility for the breach. The company said it has since strengthened its security measures and is offering affected individuals two years of free identity protection services through Kroll, including credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration.
