The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), represented by Air Vice Marshal Amorn Chomchoey, Secretary-General of the National Cyber Security Committee, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cybersecurity cooperation with the Department of Land Transport (DLT), represented by Mr. Jirut Wisanjit, Director-General of the Department of Land Transport. The signing ceremony took place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

Air Vice Marshal Amorn Chomchoey stated that as the world becomes increasingly digital, society’s reliance on technology continues to grow significantly. Digital technologies are transforming the way people live, work, and communicate, including how land transportation systems are managed. Public safety and national security are closely linked to the reliability of transportation systems, such as traffic signal control systems, driver information databases, and communication networks within transportation infrastructure.
These systems may be vulnerable to cyber threats, making it essential to develop strong measures to protect critical infrastructure from cyber risks. The cooperation between the two organizations will support the exchange of knowledge and information, strengthen awareness of cybersecurity practices, and promote a shared understanding of cyber threat situations. It will also support the development of secure data systems that ensure reliable public services, while laying the foundation for a more cyber-secure modern transportation system that benefits the public and the nation.

Mr. Jirut Wisanjit, Director-General of the Department of Land Transport, stated that the department has continuously developed modern information systems and digital technologies to improve public services and facilitate transportation-related operations. As the department manages large volumes of citizen data and connects information systems with multiple external agencies, cybersecurity has become critically important.
He added that the Department of Land Transport has previously received valuable support from NCSA in both policy and technical aspects, including guidance to ensure compliance with relevant laws and assistance in addressing cyber threats. NCSA has also deployed tools and systems for monitoring and security inspection, as well as provided expert speakers to enhance cybersecurity awareness among department personnel.
Furthermore, both organizations will collaborate to support academic and technical initiatives in research, innovation, human resource development, and knowledge exchange. This cooperation will provide an important opportunity for the Department of Land Transport to further strengthen the capabilities of its personnel in preventing, responding to, and mitigating cyber threats, as well as protecting critical data effectively in accordance with legal requirements.
