Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd., Japan’s leading beer producer and owner of the iconic Asahi Super Dry brand, has announced a temporary suspension of operations in Japan after its systems were hit by a cyberattack. The incident has disrupted order processing, product deliveries, and customer services provided through call centers and service desks.

The company stated that, so far, no evidence has been found of personal or customer data being leaked externally. However, due to the system outage, Asahi has been forced to halt domestic operations temporarily, while its overseas branches remain unaffected.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing, and the timeline for restoring systems has yet to be determined. At this stage, no ransomware group or hacker collective has claimed responsibility for the attack. The event highlights the risks faced by large enterprises-particularly those in manufacturing and consumer goods industries—where cyberattacks can have nationwide and even global impacts.
