Revolut, a financial technology company providing digital banking services, has disclosed a major service outage affecting financial operations across multiple countries worldwide. Tens of thousands of users reported problems accessing the Revolut application, mobile banking services, and transfers between accounts. The company said the disruption began on the morning of Tuesday, October 20, 2026, and that its teams began working to resolve the issue immediately after detecting the incident. Revolut also confirmed that customer funds and data remained secure.

According to Revolut’s official System Status page, the incident affected a total of 28 services, with some experiencing partial or complete disruption. Affected services included sign-in, card payments, money transfers, currency exchange, stock trading, and Live Support Chat. The company stated that it was experiencing issues across multiple services and was working to restore normal operations, while apologizing to customers for the disruption. However, the exact cause of the outage has not yet been disclosed, and there is currently no confirmation that the incident was caused by a cyberattack.

Revolut provides banking, money management, and investment services to more than 80 million customers across over 160 countries and regions, as well as approximately 800,000 business customers. In September 2026, the company previously disclosed a data exposure incident in which personal information belonging to some customers was provided to malicious actors impersonating government authorities. Revolut also suffered a separate incident in September 2022 in which personal, contact, and financial information belonging to more than 50,000 customers was stolen. However, there is currently no evidence linking the latest service outage to those previous data breaches. Users should monitor service status through Revolut’s official channels and verify whether transactions have been completed successfully before attempting them again to avoid duplicate or unintended transactions.
