Apple has released security updates for iOS 26.5.2, iPadOS 26.5.2, macOS Tahoe 26.5.2, and Safari 26.5.2 to address multiple vulnerabilities in key components, including WebKit, Kernel, WebRTC, Web Extensions, IOGPUFamily, and libxslt. Most of the vulnerabilities are related to the processing of specially crafted web content, which could lead to information disclosure, app or system crashes, or memory-related issues.
Reports indicate that iOS 26.5.2, iPadOS 26.5.2, and macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 fix a total of 37 vulnerabilities. Among them, 26 vulnerabilities are in WebKit and could be exploited through malicious websites to extract cross-origin data, disclose sensitive information, cause Safari to crash, corrupt memory, steal clipboard data, or process web content outside the intended sandbox restrictions. Meanwhile, Safari 26.5.2 fixes 31 vulnerabilities and affects users of macOS Sonoma and macOS Sequoia.
Apple has not stated that any of the vulnerabilities addressed in this update have been actively exploited. However, since many of the vulnerabilities are related to WebKit and could be triggered by visiting specially crafted websites, users should update their iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Safari to the latest versions as soon as possible. Users should also avoid opening untrusted links or websites and ensure that their devices are still running supported versions that receive security updates.
