Google has released a security update for Chrome to fix seven memory safety vulnerabilities. These include three Critical-severity Use-after-free vulnerabilities in the CameraCapture, GPU, and Network components, as well as three High-severity vulnerabilities in the Cast, Ozone, and Aura components. Google has not stated that any of the vulnerabilities in this update have been actively exploited.
This update also fixes an Out-of-bounds Read and Write vulnerability in the V8 JavaScript engine, discovered by OpenAI Codex Security. Use-after-free and Out-of-bounds vulnerabilities could allow a program to access improper memory areas, causing the browser to crash, exposing data in memory, or potentially being chained with other vulnerabilities to execute code on the system. Google stated that it has fixed more than 1,400 vulnerabilities in Chrome since April 2026, most of which were related to memory safety.
Users and system administrators should update Chrome to version 150.0.7871.128 or 150.0.7871.129 for Windows and macOS, and version 150.0.7871.128 for Linux. They should also restart the browser after installing the update to ensure that the fixes take effect. Although there are currently no reports that these vulnerabilities have been exploited in attacks, users should install the update as soon as possible because Chrome memory safety vulnerabilities are often used as part of attacks through specially crafted websites or online content.
